The festival was going on during 15 days, and I just saw two evenings. The trains were on strike , so I had to go to Strasbourg one day before.

Actually the conference went on well, and was under the form of an interview. I talked mainly on the themes Thomas and Raphaël had interviewed me before, trying to make accessible to people who never heard of Burroughs the most important concepts that he and Gysin had developed and experimented: Johnson family, third mind, cut-ups, non Aristotelian functions of writing, general semantics, language as a virus, dreamachine.

Strangely enough, the festival had not much to see with Burroughs, though a number of the terms used in the presentation seemed to look as such (Gysin's picture on the bills of the money which was used inside the festival : the "interzonards", Interzone, dreamachine, etc., see at : http://www.eternalnetwork.org/e-interzone). In fact, the organizers of the festival I met there were more into the "grotesque" and chaos fashion, Marylin Manson style, which is presently being spread, than in a Burroughsian trip, while presenting Burroughs and Interzone as part of this "grotesque" fashion, which I guess, is a matter of opinions, but does not properly speaking reflect the Interzone I am involved in nor the people I am relating to in the group.

I have taken some pictures, but for a reason beyond my will, my scanner has decided to go on strike as well, so I cannot show them to you at the moment.
